China’s First BESS EV Charging Station with All DC Micro-Grid Integrating Battery Detection and PV Energy Storage


In response to the government’s policy of reducing carbon emissions, China’s first all DC micro-grid EV charging station integrated battery detection and PV energy storage system is rapidly rolling out across the country. China’s emphasis on sustainable development and the acceleration of power grid reform is currently a world-renowned phenomenon.

 

BESS Intelligent Super Charging Station is the first domestic standardized intelligent charging station utilizing full DC micro-grid technology to integrate EV Charger, energy storage, photovoltaic cells, and on-line battery testing. By innovatively combining energy storage and battery testing technologies, it can facilitate the resolution of power capacity and safety charging issues in the urban central area charging infrastructure amid the rapid development of electric vehicle in the context of carbon neutrality goals by 2050. While enhancing the safety factor in the process of promoting electric vehicles and energy storage applications, it can realize the next generation of electric vehicles to achieve a fast charging technology of 200-300 km with 7-8 minutes of quick charging, thereby resolving users’ concerns over range and battery safety.

 

It simultaneously serves as a micro-grid, providing a secure and reliable technology support for the future energy interaction between electric vehicles’ power batteries and the grid (V2G). The energy interaction between the storage system and the grid can be realized, thus allowing for power scheduling and frequency modulation, thereby enhancing the capabilities of a charging station to qualify as an integrated energy service provider or even a virtual power plant service provider, an initiative encouraged by the government. Furthermore, the charging piles of the station possess the capability of online battery detection, which not only improves safety during the use of electric vehicles but can also serve as a validated certificate for future new energy vehicle annual inspection, second-hand vehicle evaluation, judicial appraisal, insurance loss assessment and other tests.

 

BESS Intelligent Super Charging Station is also the first domestic Supercharger Station to employ a standardized design. This was achieved through a collaborative effort between Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd. (CATL), Nebula Electronics Co., Ltd. (Nebula Electronics) and Contemporary Nebula Technology Energy Co., Ltd. (CNTE), with their self-developed standardized production and systematized development model, which has not only improved the system’s reliability, but also increased the efficiency of production and assembly. The primary components and structures of the charging station can be prefabricated in the factory, thereby expediting the deployment and construction of new sites.

 

We are honored to be able to jointly participate in this great project with CNTE. Nebula Electronics is taking the parts of EV chargers and PCS as well as the infrastructure construction of charging stations. CNTE develops the whole incredible energy storage system.
